Device Info Block

The Device Info Block command is used to place a user-defined information block, like the Sheath Info Block, which is used on Copper spans. This information block can be used for any Copper device, other than spans and slack features. The cell used for the Copper Device Info Block must be defined before this command can be used.

Open the Device Info Block dialog by clicking on File > OpenComms Settings > OSP – Common>Device Info Block to display the following setup dialog:

Note: Fields 101-105 in the Available fill-in fields are Fiber data fields only—those fields will not work correctly in Copper.

After naming your Device Info Block, assigning a cell (with PBA fields defined in it), and selecting the fill-in fields from the list of Available fill-in fields, click the 'Add' button to add this Device Info Block cell to your spec file.
